السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

I pray your Ramadan is off to a strong start, may we all reach our spiritual potential in this blessed and glorious month. I am sending you a personal message that I hope you will take a few minutes to read. This year, I would like to encourage you to donate part of your charity to MAS-Atlanta.  Below is some of what MAS brought to our community throughout the years:

  • MAS Scouting
    • The MAS Scouting program has been running in Atlanta for many years.
      • We currently have 20 boys enrolled in the Cub Scouts and 60 boys enrolled in the Boy Scouts.
      • The Girl Scout troop has 12 girls enrolled. We will also be opening a new Daisies troop for kindergarten this year.
    • The Cub Scout program has produced 26 boys with their Arrow of Light requirements completed.
    • The Boy Scouts program has produced 7 Eagle Scouts.
    • In the past three years 12 of the adult leaders have attended the Wood Badge, this is the highest level of training for adult leaders.
    • The Girl Scouts troop has been meeting for 2 years and has gone through one transition to a higher level troop. 5 girls have earned their bronze award.
  • MAS Youth
    • Hired Hassan Faye to run youth programs throughout the Greater Atlanta area.
      • Hassan has been going weekly to Al-Falah Academy and Warner Robbins to work with the youth in those communities.
      • He has led a few activities for young people in the Atlanta area. We are working to build up the number.
      • He has recorded daily Ramadan reminders that we have all benefited from.
    • Our members led a study circle for several young people from 2008 to 2012. Many of these young people have become leaders in the community.
    • Halaqa at GA Tech
      • During the school year of 2018-2019, MAS Atlanta held regular halaqas with the MSA at Georgia Tech students. This year we focused on covering the tafsir of sura Yasin.
    • Programs at Georgia Tech and Georgia State
      • MAS Atlanta was invited to present at several programs held at these schools.
  • MAS Family Camp
    • MAS Atlanta has hosted a family camp for the last 10 years.
    • The camps have steadily grown to an attendance of 130 people.
    • Camp themes have included topics such as Mental Health, Family Dynamics, Brotherhood and Sisterhood, Empowering our Youth.

We are looking to expand the programs that MAS Atlanta offers. We also have been considering acquiring a location to host our Scouts and other programs. A location will also allow us to offer programs in areas and to groups that are currently underserved.

If you have been touched by MAS Atlanta programs over the years, please consider sending a portion of your Ramadan donations to us. Any amount helps.

May Allah(swt) reward you and make Ramadan full of blessings and mercy from Allah(swt).

Please donate on our paypal page below.

MAS Atlanta is a registered 501c3 organization.
