Muslim American Society, MAS, Atlanta chapter, started Boy Scouts Troop 12 and Pack 12 in 2008, right now our program is divided into three sections:

  1. Cub Scouts (Boys and Girls Kindergarten to 5th graders)
  2. Boy Scouts (Boys 11 to 18 years old)
  3. Girl Scouts (Girls 11 to 18 years old)

The MAS Boy Scouts program has been meeting in different locations over the years. The meetings started at ICNF, then at RCM, then at ILM Academy and now back to ICNF. (temporarily meeting now at Wills Park)

These Scout units currently also use space at RCM for leadership meetings and at Masjid Hamza for some campouts and activities.

This scouting program gather boys from different communities. The boys and adults volunteers are uniting the various communities as they are meeting regularly, spending time on trips and nights while on campouts. The brotherhood that MAS Scouts is providing is a unique opportunity as it is increasingly difficult to come together with those who attend other masjids and Sunday schools.

Due to this diversity, MAS Scouts have been able to do service projects for different masjids like installing a flagpole at Masjid Hamza and helping with landscaping for RCM and ICNF. The scouts and the parents also helped in serving the hurricane evacuees at ICNF, Hamza and Masjid Rahman.

MAS thanks ICNF, RCM and Hamza Masjids for providing the space to carry its scouting program.
